On June 2, 2024, the Association des Archambault d’Amérique held its 41st Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Centre Roussin in Pointe-aux-Trembles, which this year celebrates its 350th anniversary.
Our President, Raynald, called the AGM to order after delivering his welcome address. He recalled various events of interest that had taken place during the year. He also pointed out that Board members had met virtually on several occasions to discuss various issues.
Our treasurer, Nicole, then presented her financial report for 2023.
Then Guy, the bulletin’s editor, gave us a summary of the forthcoming bulletins.
Serge then tells us about the research he has carried out on Laurent, son of the ancestor from whom we are all descended.
Anne Marie Archambault, just arrived from Europe, has taken back her responsibilities as co-genealogist with the Association des Archambault d’Amérique. At the annual meeting of June 2nd, 2024, in Pointe-aux-Trembles, she briefly presented a report on her views and future activities concerning the association and Archambault’s Genealogy.
Richard Archambault, ex-president and André Archambault, who have initiated the genealogy of the Archambault d’Amérique, mainly with Ancestry, have made possible the actual genealogy tree for the Archambault. We are grateful for all the cumulated information that includes more than 40 000 data of descendants of Jacques Archambault, our ancestor, and this tree continues its way to the United States.
My mandate is to complete our family tree on a new software, Heredis, that belongs to the association. André transferred almost all information from Ancestry, and it has been integrated into the new software. We pursue the new entries on Heredis so that it will be possible eventually to produce family trees for all our members, under a specific format of tree, still to be chosen.
The help of André in all aspects of integration has been appreciated and there is still a lot to do and finalize many family trees for all our members.
To continue our projects in genealogy, I have interested a new member that the family has already invested in their family tree, to join me as a co-genealogist, Mr Éric Bombardier (Archambault by his mother – Estelle Archambault).
Search for ancestors Archambault in France, from the 10th to 20th century:
Having lived in Switzerland, Belgium and travelled in France during many years, I have made a few researches concerning the ancestors of our ancestor Jacques A. With the new generation of genealogy software, it has become easier to find ancestors from the 10th to the 20th centuries and I have found many Archambault, Archambaud, Archambeau across France. I managed to get a few of those researches that I have printed.
I am leaving for another trip to France and Switzerland to see my children and I will pursue my research. I plan to visit Bourbon l’Archambault to understand more about our origins.
If you have any information or want to get more details about our ancestors, beyond Jacques A, I will be happy to share with you all that concerns our origins. You can also complete our forms on our website or send me by email your request or information.
This part on ancestors over Jacques A remains my personal project that fascinates me, and I am sure will interest other Archambault. I will share when I find good information!
Invitation for new members for the Archambault d’Amérique:

With a greater group of members, we can plan more activities, trips discovering our ancestors in France, get together to celebrate people in the Archambault line that have accomplished great things in their lives, etc.
A trip to Europe/France is on the planning board in 2026 or 2027 to visit a few regions of our ancestors Archambault/Archambaud/Archaimbault (pronounced in old French) etc.
Great event to recognize one of our members, Robert Lefebvre/Archambault (Archambault through his mother Théodora, daughter of Théodore A)
A great event planned in 2025 to recognize a Québec industrial in Agriculture that has made exceptional realizations through the years across Canada.
Robert has influenced greatly the whole sector of agriculture in Québec and also in Canada. He has received the greatest honor in being introduced to “Le Temple de la Renommée de l’Agriculture” in 2017.
He was also “Official Judge of Canada for the Holstein cows” for 13 years.
In 1983 he was named “Young Elite in Agriculture of Canada” and in 1988 he was also named “Master Breeder of Holstein Canada”.
To follow in realizations, the Lefebvre/Archambault family from Saint-Félix-de-Kingsey, was elected in 2015, “The Agricultural Family of the Year”.
When Robert retired, he followed courses in woodworking with sculpture.
He was fascinated by two French styles: Louis XV and New Art. He created magnificent unique Work of Art, using the ancestral assembly that he brought back in Québec. He actually teaches the “Golden Rule” in Victoriaville, used by Leonardo da Vinci. See his website: robert-lefebvre.com.
Two bulletins from les Archambault d’Amérique will cover his exceptional path!
By the way, if you know other Archambault that have realized a few things in different sectors in their lives, we will be pleased to receive your references and also to listen to other stories.
Any Archambault or descendant of a line Archambault, we will be pleased to hear from you, a story, some events of life in your upline of ancestry or descendants, let’s hear from you.
Good sharing makes a stronger line of ancestors!! Hope to hear from you!

Monique, who is responsible for the website, gave us a report on the work she has carried out on the association’s website, and on the steps we have taken and will take in the future to comply with Québec’s Bill 25 on the protection of personal information in the private sector. Two pages will eventually be added to the site: a page for members to download (with password) all past bulletins in PDF format, and a page for ordering items we have for sale.
After an excellent meal at Scores restaurant on Sherbrooke Street East, we returned to the Centre Roussin for a guided tour of the Atelier d’histoire de la Pointe-aux-Trembles museum. Members returned home delighted with their day.
