Strength and dynamism<\/h1>\n

Since the creation of our group, we have had a remarkably active associative life. We have inaugurated several commemorative plaques in various places historically significant to us, notably two in Montreal, in L\u2019Assomption, in Saint-Antoine-sur-Richelieu, in Cap-Rouge, two in Dompierre-sur-Mer, one of which in 1988, to mark the tercentenary of the death of our ancestor. We have often taken advantage of this to hold our annual general meetings.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/section>\n

In addition to publishing our Bulletin on a regular basis, in 1988 we began publishing the Dictionnaire g\u00e9n\u00e9alogique des Archambault d\u2019Am\u00e9rique, in seven volumes. With its numerous biographical notes and abundant iconographic documentation, this colossal work is based on the patient research of our archivist, Pierre Archambault, and his late collaborator, Yvon Archambault. Pierre Archambault also published in 2003 Les Archambault d\u2019Am\u00e9rique dans le domaine religieux.<\/p>\n

We were able to obtain from the City of Montreal the construction, on Place d\u2019Youville, of a stone curbstone recalling the first well on the island of Montreal, dug two steps away, in 1658, by our ancestor, and the installation of an odonymic plaque in the name of Jacques Archambault in the Pointe-aux-Trembles district.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

Thanks to the local municipality in France, we were able to inaugurate a plaque to name Jacques Archambault the road that connects Dompierre-sur-Mer to Saint-Xandre and that the ancestor had to take to get to the church.
